The Orthodox Faithful Are Santified by Partaking of the Body & Blood of Christ…

I believe, O Lord, and I confess that Thou art truly the Christ, the Son of the Living God, who camest into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief. (1 Tim 1:15).
And that this is truly Thine own most pure Body, and that this is truly Thine own precious Blood. Wherefore I pray Thee: Have mercy upon me and forgive me my transgressions, whether committed in word and deed, in knowledge and in ignorance and vouchsafe me to partake of Thy most pure Mysteries, unto the remission of sins and life everlasting.
Of Thy Mystical Supper, O Son of God, accept me today as a communicant. For I will not speak of Thy Mystery to Thine enemies, nor like Judas will I give Thee a kiss; but like the thief do I confess Thee: “Remember me, O Lord, in Thy Kingdom.”
May the communion of Thy Holy Mysteries be neither to my judgment, nor to my condemnation, 0 Lord, but unto the healing of soul and body.

About Saint Luke

St Luke Evangelist
St. Luke (active 50 A.D.) was one of the four Evangelists. Since the 2nd century he has been regarded as the author of the Third Gospel and its sequel, the Acts of the Apostles. Tradition and one text of St. Paul's (Colossians 4:14) testify that Saint Luke was a trained physician, and painted the first icons of the Mother of God.
